It’s been a bit since I have done a new blog post! Life just gets busy and its hard to find time and motivation to write a new post sometimes. But I am going to try to be better about being more regular!
Ok friends the first day of summer is June 21st!!!! Which is only about 7 ½ a half weeks ago! However, if you live in the PNW like myself we might not actually see consistent warm weather for a little while after that. Anyways I am sure like most people when they realize summer is right around the corner they try to clean up their diet and workout a bit more since you are typically in less clothing when its hot out LOL. So, a couple friends and I decided to start a May Challenge of eating really good and being active at least 4 times a week.
I always find its easier to stick to something like this when you have some support and motivation from friends. Or someone to complain to about how much you want some chocolate. I have not been eating well at all these past couple weeks, so I am sure the sugar cravings will be real bad in the beginning. So sorry friends I will prob complain a lot! We are however giving ourselves 1 cheat a week. Kayla and I have a few things planned where we know we will want a drink or two. I also feel by knowing you will be able to eat or drink something on a certain day helps me hold out and not cheat during the week!
Hopefully by posting this it will also keep me more motivated! I always feel the best when my diet is super clean, so I am going back to basics and eating lots of veggies, fruits, brown rice, Dr Praegers Veggie patties, beans and a few other things. I like to keep it fairly simple but try to get creative and change it up so I don’t get bored with what I am eating. I also used to do spin class all the time back in the day and I decided I am going to try and do that 2 times a week and then if we actually get a few sunny days meet my friends for a walk up a huge hill! Which is also where we said we need to get on track for summer haha. I love weight training but haven’t been doing that much lately so going to get back to that as well!
Here’s to warmer weather coming and getting those summer bodies a bit more in shape!
